Restaurant Papa Luigi

One of my favorite meals is a good old fashion veal scalapin, something about that meal brings me back to some wonderful memories. Unfortunately this one did not, veal tasted like it was in the freezer far to long and tasted really unsavory. When the waiter arrived at our table to inquire how our meals were I expressed my dissatisfaction and explained my concern over my meal. To my surprise the waiter started to wail over how it was not his fault and I will still need to pay for the plate. I didn't have an issue paying but the whole fiasco left me really wanting to just leave the restaurant.Really thought these places were more in tune with satisfied customers.

Much enjoyed experience there. Great food. Good craft beer. Cozy atmosphere in old home with wood burning stoves.

Great food, the steaks were delicious, but I have to admit that for the price steak, french fries and gravy a little bit more expensive than I thought it should be. But the food was excellent as well as the service.

The food was just ok...we had the veal parmigiana and I don't think it was very fresh. The pasta sauce tasted like it was from a can. Service was very good

The place looks nice. Very rustic and simple. The waiter was polite and helpful, knew his menu very well. The ambiance is cozy and relaxed. Perfect for a romantic dinner or a friends gathering. The problem is....the food! I'm pretty sure if you ordered pasta you'd be fine. The steak was bad. The veal was bad. The surf n' turf was bad. The seafood was ordinary. All sides were bland and very boring. Like I said, the pastas are probably the way to go on this place cause the only thing I enjoyed was my little portion of garlic and oil spaghetti. Even dessert was boring and bland as hell. The cheesecake and crème brûlée were made there and were just as diseapointing as the rest. The staff is fun and pleasant but sorry, I go to a restaurant to eat and if the food is bad, then it's a fail to me.

Papa Luigi is a pleasant surprise. There are lots of great restaurants in St. Sauveur and lots of options for creative and original food offerings. But If you are looking for traditional Italian food done well and served well, you will. not be disappointed with Papa Luigi. We ended up there a few years back when we first visited St. Sauveur and enjoyed a really good meal and had a nice chat with the chef. We just went back with friends and had another great meal. Everyone thought their meals were excellent and we all noted that the service was top notch. If you're looking for good lasagna, veal Parmesan or linguini vongole, Papa Luigi will not disappoint.

Wonderful food and ambiance. Extensive wine list. Stone fireplace brings out the coziness, especially during a snowfall. Didn't try the sizzling steak but apparently was delicious, according to the misses.

The food is North Amerian Italien style and the menu does not include anything exceptional, except the very popular steak (bavette) that is brought to the table still sizzling, for which you are given a large bib to protect your clothes. The outdoor area is quite narrow. No view. The service is friendly and professional. The ambience is pleasant.

Very disappointed.. They didn't have any pizza available. Small serving size. Some bread would be nice too.
